This book culminates a long analytical and personal journey to diagnose structural and operational challenges at the Goma Airport storage depot, a strategic logistics hub in Eastern Congo. Between 2019 and 2022, recurrent disruptions, organizational inconsistencies, and technological gaps revealed the need for a comprehensive, evidence‑based study. Dedicated to my father, Octave SEKIMONYO MUSANGANYA, and my grandmother, Acilla RWAKABUBA UMUTESI, the work combines documentary analysis, field observation, semi‑structured interviews, and triangulation to identify root causes of dysfunction. This volume provides a systematic diagnosis and lays the conceptual foundation for subsequent volumes on quantitative validation, modeling, and an improvement roadmap aligned with international best practices. Aimed at practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and airport stakeholders, it blends scientific rigor with operational relevance and aspires to be both a reference and a practical tool to transform the Goma depot into a secure, resilient, high‑performance logistics platform.
