School research is based on different theoretical backgrounds and methodological approaches to the sub-areas of school and social fields of action. School research includes research on the topic of 'teaching'. Subject-specific didactics is not included, as this is included in teaching research. The focus of school research is the school in its scientific research in its complexity, which is why topics such as school systems, forms of school organization and school structures are naturally not addressed. Related sciences are statistics, socialization research, childhood and youth research as well as biography research. The quantitative and qualitative discussion of methods belongs to school research with its own focus. The choice of topics for the study and the personal interests of the authors are based on the content of their university studies (educational science - political education and intercultural competence), academic teaching and APS teacher training and their work in school development consultancy. The examination of specialist literature is an essential endeavor.
