Celem niniejszej pracy badawczej było opracowanie i ocena tabletek matrycowych o przedłużonym uwalnianiu fenylo-propanolaminyHCl, aby poprawić przestrzeganiezaleceńlekarskichprzezpacjentów i zmniejszyć działania niepożądane poprzez zmniejszenieczęstotliwościdawkowania. Brakinterakcji pomiędzy lekiem a proponowanymi substancjami pomocniczymi został potwierdzony za pomocą spektroskopii IR i DSC.Tabletkimatrycowezostałyopracowanetechniką granulacji na mokro przy użyciu polimerów hydrofilowych, hydrofobowych i woskowych, pojedynczo lub wkombinacji. Wstępne próby wykazały, że zastosowanie EC i HPMC osobno nie pomogło wskutecznym opóźnieniu uwalniania, ale połączenie obu tych polimerów opóźniało uwalnianie do 8 godz.Dodatek i powlekanie ECpogranulacjiznacząco przyczyniły się do opóźnienia uwalniania leku.Granulki oceniano pod względem gęstości nasypowej, gęstości stożkowej, wskaźnika Carra, współczynnika Hausnera i kąta usypu. Przygotowane tabletki oceniano pod względem grubości, twardości, procentowej kruchości i zawartości leku. Wszystkieuzyskane wyniki uznano za zadowalające. Ostatecznaformulacja zawierająca hydrofilowy rdzeń z hydrofobową powłoką okazała się skuteczna w przedłużaniuuwalniania leku w okresie 10 godzin.
