Das Hauptziel der Studie besteht darin, den politischen Entscheidungsträgern die Faktoren aufzuzeigen, die den Schulbesuch von Mädchen in der Provinz im äußersten Norden Kameruns noch immer behindern. Die Studie soll auch als analytisches Raster dienen, mit dem man die Probleme der Schulabbrecherinnen im nördlichen Teil des Landes wirksam angehen und kurzfristig zu einer deutlichen Verringerung der Schulabbrecherinnen führen kann. Wir beabsichtigen, einen Teil des Schleiers über eine der Dimensionen des Gesamtproblems der Integration der kamerunischen Frauen in den Entwicklungsprozess zu lüften. Dennoch muss man anerkennen, dass der Staat immer wieder Anstrengungen im Bildungsbereich unternommen hat, indem er Schulen vermehrt und die personellen und materiellen Mittel bereitgestellt hat. Und es wurden deutliche Fortschritte im Bereich der Einschulung in Kamerun verzeichnet. Trotz dieser Bemühungen um den Zugang aller zur Bildung ist die Zahl der Mädchen in den Schulen immer noch geringer als die der Jungen im hohen Norden.
