In questo studio ci interessiamo all’interpretazione statistica della nozione di temperatura, basata su alcuni dei concetti utilizzati per dimostrarne l’esistenza. Il primo capitolo si occupa di spiegare i due significati fisici della temperatura, quello termodinamico in cui la temperatura è descritta dall’agitazione delle particelle che compongono la materia e segue il teorema di equipartizione, mentre quello statistico si basa sul legame tra entropia ed energia. Il secondo capitolo tratterà la nozione di entropia e le sue interpretazioni, statistica, dove esprime la mancanza di informazione, e termodinamica, dove è descritta da due principi: il secondo che ci dà in quale direzione avviene la trasformazione e il terzo di Nernst, dove l’entropia a 0 kelvin è zero. Il terzo capitolo tratta la nozione di temperatura negativa, la sua storia, la definizione, la dimostrazione della sua esistenza teorica e infine il quarto capitolo che esamina il campo di applicazione di questa nozione.
