Il s’agit de l’ensemble des comportements efficaces qui nous viennent le plus naturellement. Notre zone de confort est notre style social, un ensemble de comportements interpersonnels que nous utilisons le plus souvent et avec lesquels nous sommes le plus à l’aise lorsque nous interagissons avec d’autres personnes. Nous formons des impressions caractéristiques sur les autres personnes lorsque nous les rencontrons pour la première fois. Depuis notre zone de confort, nous jugeons le comportement de l’autre personne. Le jugement sera positif dans la mesure où le comportement de la personne répond à nos attentes. Le jugement sera négatif dans la mesure où les comportements ne répondent pas à nos attentes.La qualité générale ne concerne que le comportement perçu. La qualité générale ne concerne que ce que nous entendons et voyons. Elle ne concerne pas les caractéristiques personnelles telles que l’intelligence, les valeurs, les sentiments, les capacités ou la motivation.
