Hintergrund: Infektionen im Zusammenhang mit dem Gesundheitswesen gelten als eine der größten Bedrohungen für die Patientensicherheit und die Qualität der Pflege. Zentrale Venenkatheter (ZVK) werden immer häufiger zu diagnostischen und therapeutischen Zwecken eingesetzt, sind aber gleichzeitig für etwa 90 % der Bakteriämien im Krankenhaus verantwortlich. Zielsetzung: Analyse des Qualitätsindexes zum Zeitpunkt des Legens und der Pflege des zentralen Venenkatheters (IQC und IQM). Methodik: Querschnittliche und analytische Studie. Die Stichprobe bestand aus 35 Krankenschwestern und Krankenpflegern, die 50 Beobachtungen beim Legen und 170 Beobachtungen bei der Pflege des ZVK machten.Ergebnisse: Es wurde ein Qualitätsindex für die Platzierung von 90,1 % und ein MQI für die ZVK von 89,2 % ermittelt. Das weibliche Geschlecht und die Tatsache, dass es sich um einen Spezialisten handelt, beeinflussten den IQM der ZVK (p < 0,05).Schlussfolgerung: Es wird festgestellt, dass der IQC und der IQM der CVC innerhalb der empfohlenen Werte liegen. Daher sind Ausbildung und Forschung am Arbeitsplatz von grundlegender Bedeutung für die Verbesserung der Pflege.
