Synopsis: During his nearly fifty years as Sunday School teacher, song leader, and choir director, Jack Worrill has developed an appreciation of the parable as a means of illustrating important spiritual truths. These Parables for Plain People are presented in the traditional parable form:An illustration, current event, personal experience, or observation with a short development, followed by a spiritual application. Each reading takes from three to five minutes to read and finishes with a challenge to respond to the spiritual message.Jack’s Parables for Plain People are all based upon his keen awareness of the presence of the Holy Spirit, purposefully working out His Will in even the most ordinary daily events, in the lives of those who put their faith and trust in Him.Autobiography: Jack Worrill is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a graduate of Georgia Tech. These Parables for Plain People are all drawn from his varied life experiences. He spent thirty-five years in the advertising business as an account executive and copywriter.Jack has spent thirty years practicing the chair caner’s craft, repairing, restoring, and re-caning chairs, rockers, and wicker furniture. During that time, he has taught caning classes and demonstrated caning skills at numerous arts and crafts fairs and folk schools.Although now retired to Knoxville, Tennessee, Jack still maintains his caning talents while also engaging in a number of areas of ministry, including mission trips to several foreign fields around the world.
