In dieser Sammlung sind alle Essays zusammengefasst, die ich etwa 15 Jahre lang in Frankreich und anderswo auf Kolloquien des Dritte-Welt-Vereins vorgetragen habe. Diese Aufsätze betrafen das gleiche Thema, das in den verschiedenen Zeiträumen unterschiedlich behandelt wurde. Aus diesem Grund habe ich eher eine Sammlung von Essays als ein Buch verfasst. Alle diese Essays haben jedoch ein gemeinsames Ziel: wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und politische Stabilität, insbesondere in Asien. Der Kontinent steht auf dem Weg zu einer vollständigen wirtschaftlichen Integration vor vielen verschiedenen Herausforderungen: Außenhandel, Entwicklungshilfe, Auslandsinvestitionen und vieles mehr. Ich selbst habe zwar die japanische Staatsbürgerschaft, und es wäre leicht, die Artikel als japan- oder asienfreundlich zu interpretieren... Dennoch achte ich auf Unparteilichkeit. Trotz allem ist meiner Meinung nach das Zeitalter Asiens angebrochen, und in meinem letzten Kolloquium in Grenoble 2018 werde ich das laut erklären.
