Este estudo centra-se na interferência da classe política na liderança da Escola Secundária Pública Sénior no Distrito Senatorial do Sudeste do Estado de Rivers. O estudo adoptou um modelo de investigação descritiva. A população era composta por 234 inquiridos (78 directores, 78 vice-directores administrativos e 78 académicos). Foi utilizado o censo para seleccionar a população. Foi utilizado um questionário para a recolha de dados. A fiabilidade do instrumento foi obtida utilizando o método estatístico teste-reteste. O questionário foi aplicado a 20 directores de escolas secundárias, tendo sido obtido um índice de fiabilidade de 0,739 e 0,81 através das estatísticas de correlação do momento do produto de Pearson. A média e o desvio padrão foram utilizados para responder às questões de investigação 1-4, enquanto o teste t independente foi utilizado para testar as hipóteses a um nível alfa de significância de 0,05. A partir dos resultados, não houve diferença significativa entre as classificações médias dos directores e vice-directores quanto à interferência da política na nomeação, promoção e colocação do pessoal, etc. O estudo conclui que o governo deve definir critérios aceitáveis para a nomeação dos directores, a fim de garantir uma gestão adequada das escolas.
