Nel presente studio sono stati arruolati 12 pazienti di età compresa tra i 15 e i 45 anni (5 maschi e 7 femmine) che erano esteticamente preoccupati per le loro gengive iperpigmentate e hanno richiesto un trattamento per le stesse. Le aree chirurgiche da trattare sono state scelte a caso e suddivise in due gruppi: depigmentazione con elettrocauterizzazione e LASER. La procedura chirurgica è stata eseguita in anestesia topica e in anestesia locale. La depigmentazione gengivale è stata eseguita con elettrocauterizzazione e LASER.Concludiamo che l’applicazione del LASER è risultata efficace nella gestione dell’iperpigmentazione gengivale in termini di aspetto della gengiva, percezione del dolore e guarigione della ferita.
