Resumo: O objectivo do nosso trabalho foi o de realizar uma abordagem científica para a transformação da floresta de Znadia e Gaoua num parque ecológico. Este trabalho consistiu, em primeiro lugar, na recolha do maior número possível de informações sobre o local e, em seguida, na realização de um estudo analítico com imagens de satélite Landsat 5&7 e Spot-5, avaliando assim o ambiente destas florestas. Os resultados obtidos mostram uma expansão urbana significativa na proximidade da floresta de Gaoua, bem como uma diminuição progressiva do coberto vegetal na floresta de Znadia. Neste contexto, foi elaborado um plano de ordenamento para valorizar estes dois sítios, a fim de atrair os habitantes da cidade para um local de repouso e de lazer e de esperar a sua participação na protecção do património.
