O presente estudo analisa a construção literária que protagoniza o espaço. De modo mais específico, verificamos a construção artística da cidade e os meios utilizados no intuito de atribuir a ela elevada relevância no âmbito textual. Para este fim, elegemos a produção do escritor argentino Jorge Luis Borges, publicada nos anos de 1920 e 1930 . Outrossim, averiguamos de que modo Vitor Ramil (leitor e admirador confesso de Borges) constrói, a partir da cidade de Pelotas, sua própria Satolep. Para tal análise, são utilizados seus romances que tematizam a cidade: Pequod (1999) e Satolep (2008).
