In differenzierter Weise und trotzdem mit überschaubarem Umfang wird der vor fast 100 Jahren begangene Mord unter Berücksichtigung möglichst vieler Facetten betrachtet. Hierzu gehören neben einer kurzen Erläuterung der Bayerischen Revolution auch die biographischen Hintergründe von Opfer und Täter. Auf die Folgen des Mords wird besonderes Gewicht gelegt, besonders die Auswirkungen auf den sich bereits abzeichnenden Aufstieg der Nationalsozialisten sind aus heutiger Sicht aufschlussreich für den weiteren historischen Verlauf.
