Crohn’s disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that can affect any part of the digestive tract, from the mouth to the anus, but most commonly affects the terminal ileum and the colon. It is characterized by transmural inflammation, which affects all layers of the intestinal wall. It is a rare condition in children, but its incidence is steadily increasing. The most characteristic symptoms are diarrhea and abdominal pain. Diagnosis is based on a combination of clinical, laboratory, radiological, endoscopic, and histopathological findings. Management is complex. Nutritional and growth-related complications are the most common.
