Choroba Leśniowskiego-Crohna (MC) to przewlekła choroba zapalna jelit (MICI), która może dotknąć dowolny odcinek przewodu pokarmowego, od jamy ustnej po odbyt, jednak najczęściej dotyczy końcowego odcinka jelita krętego i okrężnicy. Charakteryzuje się zapaleniem przezściennym, które obejmuje wszystkie warstwy ściany jelita. Jest to schorzenie rzadko występujące u dzieci, jednak jego częstość występowania stale rośnie. Najbardziej charakterystycznymi objawami są biegunka i bóle brzucha. Rozpoznanie opiera się na zestawie danych klinicznych, laboratoryjnych, radiologicznych, endoskopowych i anatomopatologicznych. Leczenie jest uciążliwe. Najczęstszymi powikłaniami są zaburzenia odżywiania i opóźnienie wzrostu.
