Präoperative Angst ist ein häufiges Phänomen bei Kindern. Um dieser Angst vorzubeugen und ihre Auswirkungen zu verringern, wurden verschiedene pharmakologische und nicht-pharmakologische Ansätze entwickelt. Die Prämedikation bleibt jedoch der am häufigsten verwendete Ansatz.Benzodiazepine galten lange Zeit als Mittel der Wahl bei der pädiatrischen Bevölkerung. Aufgrund ihrer Nebenwirkungen haben verschiedene Studien jedoch versucht, nach einer Alternative zu suchen. So haben einige Autoren die Wirkung von Clonidin auf die perioperative Anxiolyse untersucht.Ziel unserer Arbeit war es, die Wirkung einer Prämedikation mit intra-nasalem Clonidin auf die präoperative Angst bei der Eltern-Kind-Trennung und beim Betreten des Operationssaals zu untersuchen.
