Asthma ist ein großes Problem der öffentlichen Gesundheit, das alle Altersgruppen betreffen kann. Die Auswirkungen der verschiedenen Altersgruppen im Erwachsenenalter auf die Asthmakontrolle wurden kaum untersucht.Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, den Grad der Asthmakontrolle in den verschiedenen Altersgruppen im Erwachsenenalter ([20-40], [41-64], ≥ 65 Jahre) zu bestimmen und Faktoren zu identifizieren, die mit einer schlechten Asthmakontrolle einhergehen. Achtzig Patienten wurden eingeschlossen. Die am stärksten vertretene Altersgruppe war [41-64 Jahre] . Personen im Alter von [20-40] hatten statistisch gesehen eine schlechtere Asthmakontrolle. Die Probanden [41-64 Jahre] hatten eine gute Kontrolle, aber es gab keine Unterschiede zwischen den drei Gruppen. Die univariate Studie zeigte, dass bei den Probanden [20-40 Jahre] eine frühere gastroösophageale Refluxkrankheit oder Depression, ein niedrigeres Gewicht, ein niedrigerer Body-Mass-Index und ein höherer Grad an Rauchen mit einer schlechten Asthmakontrolle verbunden waren. Bei den 65-Jährigen und Älteren wurde eine niedrigere forcierte Vitalkapazität vor Bronchodilatation mit einer schlechten Asthmakontrolle in Verbindung gebracht.
