64,000 people are serving sentences or are in pre-trial detention in Germany’s prisons where the atmosphere is tense. This research sought to gain statistical insight into the behavior and trend of the number of inmates and remand prisoners in Germany. We analyzed the number of inmates with executed sentences by gender, by means of a characterization of the subjects of German nationality, a shapiro Wilk test, ANOVA for sentenced inmates and for remand prisoners and found the estimated confidence limits for the future and found that the number of sentenced inmates will be between 27.003 and 31,365 by the end of 2023 and between 27,144 and 31,224 by the end of 2024 and for persons in pretrial detention will be between 530 and 557 by the end of 2023 and between 531 and 556 by the end of 2024.
