La diagnosi della pesca marittima nella Repubblica di Guinea è realizzata con il sostegno dell’AFD alla SRFC con l’obiettivo di rafforzare la partecipazione delle organizzazioni professionali della pesca (OP) nella governance dell’attività da cui dipende la loro vita. Si concentra principalmente sulla pesca marittima su piccola scala e cerca di aggiornare le conoscenze del settore. Si riferisce anche ai tipi di OP presenti sulla costa guineana. Il lavoro è stato realizzato dall’ADEPA. Consiste in una revisione della letteratura, integrata da interviste qualitative con i partecipanti. Le condizioni naturali della Guinea, con una piattaforma continentale eccezionalmente ampia e vaste paludi di mangrovie, sono favorevoli allo sviluppo delle risorse ittiche. Queste risorse ittiche sono ambite dalla pesca artigianale e industriale. I pesci pelagici rappresentano i 2/3 del potenziale di pesca della Guinea. Vengono sfruttati anche pesci commerciali, gamberi e cefalopodi.
