Hat ein soziales Netzwerk Einfluss auf die individuelle Gesundheit oder ist es eher entgegengesetzt zu sehen?In dieser Hausarbeit sollen die Einflüsse sozialer Netzwerke auf die Gesundheit des Individuums beschrieben werden. Hierzu werde ich einleitend eine Begriffsbestimmung der Termini Gesundheit, soziale Netzwerke, sozial Kapital und soziale Unterstützung (Social Support) vornehmen. Sie dient dazu im nächsten Teil in die Erklärungsmodelle einzusteigen. Hier wurden verschiedene Erklärungsmodelle, welche die Zusammenhänge beschreiben, näher betrachtet und gegenübergestellt. Im Anschluss folgen Auszüge aus verschiedenen empirischen Forschungsergebnissen sowie eine Schlussbetrachtung aus meiner Sicht.
