این کتاب گزیده‌یی از سخنرانی‌ها و مصاحبه‌های مریم رجوی در مورد زنان ایران، فشارها و قوانین ارتجاعی رژیم علیه زنان و مقاومت و ایستادگی آن‌ها در برابر حجاب اجباری، دین اجباری و حکومت اجباری است.مریم رجوی در این مورد می گویددر دیکتاتوری دینی حاکم بر ایران، یک روش محوری، سرکوب زنان تحمیل حجاب اجباری است. در این مورد یک تجربه سیاسی و تاریخی پراهمیت وجود دارد. در دیکتاتوری سیاه رضاشاه، با زور سرنیزه، حجاب را از سرزنان بر می‌داشتند. در رژیم آخوندها بار دیگر زنان سرکوب می‌شوند. اما این بار برای تحمیل حجاب اجباری. هر دو دیکتاتوری حق انتخاب آزادانه پوشش را پایمال کرده‌اند. رژيم و همدستانش تلاش کرده‌اند مبارزه برای سرنگونی و آزادی‌ها و حقوق زنان را به خواست آزادی حجاب توسط زنان محدود کنند. در این مسیر آن‌ها مبارزه برای سرنگونی رژیم را منحرف می‌کنند.اما زنان قیام‌کننده و دختران دانشجو در قیام ۱۴۰۱ هرنوع دیکتاتوری اعم از سلطنتی و آخوندی را رد کردند. آن‌ها هوشیارانه شعار می‌دادند چه با‌حجاب چه بی‌حجاب پیش به‌سوی انقلاب. و ما در مقاومت ایران همواره گفته‌ایم و می‌گوییم نه به حجاب اجباری،‌ نه به دین اجباری، ونه به حکومت اجباری. زنان ایران هشیار هستند و تجربه کرده‌اند که خشونت و سرکوب را با مبارزه برای آزادی و برابری می‌توان از میان برداشت. شعار زنان آزاده ایران، زن، مقاومت، آزادی است. زنان ایران انتخاب کرده‌اند که علیه این رژیم مقاومت کنند.
