Der österreichische Orientalist Alfred von Kremer erläutert im vorliegenden Band Herkunft und Entwicklung südarabischer Sagenkreise. Dabei geht er auf die Geschichte verschiedener jemenitischer Herrscherdynastien und ethnographische Verhältnisse ein und beschreibt Inhalte und Bedeutung der Überlieferungen. Abschließend untersucht Kremer, welche mythologischen und welche historischen Motive Eingang in die Erzählungen gefunden haben. Nachdruck der Originalausgabe aus dem Jahr 1866. 3
