The son of former NBA player Joe 'Jellybean' Bryant, Kobe Bryant’s life was steeped in basketball. Moving to Italy at six, he honed his skills with diverse play styles. Returning to the U.S., Kobe attended Lower Merion High School and declared for the NBA draft straight out of high school. Drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996, he was quickly traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he spent his 20-year career. Kobe and his daughter Gianna tragically died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. His legacy inspires countless young athletes worldwide.
