This I Need To Know is one writer’s view of the descent of the western literary tradition. Writers and artists are but the scaffolding upon which our common literary heritage is built. Each of us places a brick in the edifice and then fades away, leaving the structure enriched to the extent of the individual contributions.Appendix I is the author’s play Oedipus on 11th Street with a teaching guide that is both entertaining and valuable when teaching Oedipus in the classroom.Appendix II is the author’s play Cannibals with teaching guide, based on the trilogy The Oresteia by Aeschylus. The play is an example of the adaptation of a classic Greek drama to the modern theater written in a pseudo-classical style.
