This short story is a factual account of the birth of civil aviation in Ireland and the story of Ireland’s greatest aviator/ aviatrix Lady Heath. There is one exception in the presentation and that is the ’Flight of Fancy’ an imaginary flight in the skies over Kildonan, which she loved and similar to the many flights she flew there. In this the author exercises ’poetic licence’ on a once off basis.
