American postmodern dramas depict a sense of the nightmarish chasm on which the American individual, society, and nation rest. It reflects a complex existence and a sense of cultural disintegration. The plays in the current study focus on the anxiety and complexities of existence that arise from the disruption of moral values, society dissolution, lack of communication, the gap between language and action, as well as the decadence of the world in general.
