Three Initiates
A classic of Hermetic philosophy. A new way to read it.First published in 1908, The Kybalion has endured as one of the most influential works of modern esoteric philosophy. Attributed to the mysterious Three Initiates, it presents seven Hermetic Principles-Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect, and Gender-as a framework for contemplating the nature of mind, reality, and existence. The Fourth Initiate Edition preserves the original 1908 text while transforming the reading experience through original philosophical annotations by Gregory David Peters.Rather than simply explaining what the authors have already said, the annotations engage the text-questioning it, extending it, challenging it, and connecting its ideas to philosophy, psychology, science, history, symbolism, paradox, and the problems of human existence.Along the way, the reader encounters questions that reach beyond Hermeticism itself:Where does perception end and reality begin? How much of what we call chance is simply causation beyond our understanding? Are we choosing our lives, or merely acting from causes we did not choose? Can opposing truths coexist? What separates information from knowledge-and knowledge from wisdom? How much of the self is truly our own?The result is neither a modernization nor a conventional commentary. It is a conversation across more than a century between the original text, the contemporary reader, and questions that remain unresolved.Read the original. Question everything. Draw your own conclusions. The Kybalion: Fourth Initiate Edition is Book #001 of the Fourth Initiate Library, a collection of enduring works presented for readers who believe a great book should not merely be read-it should be thought with.
