Banned from their home in the Navajo Nation in Arizona as a result of their disobedience to their parents, Eliza and Alex Trellis work hard to build a new life for themselves and their two sons. Although life is a daily struggle, the boys grow up relatively happy and healthy—until the oldest son Cameron starts to become envious of his younger brother Austin, who seems to have more advantages than he does.
