1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.1:1 In het begin was het Woord en het Woord was bij God en het Woord was God.1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.1:2 Dit was in het begin bij God.1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.1:3 Alle dingen zijn door het Woord gemaakt, en zonder het Woord is geen ding gemaakt, dat gemaakt is.1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.1:4 In het Woord was leven en het leven was het licht der mensen.1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.1:5 En het licht schijnt in de duisternis, en de duisternis heeft het niet begrepen.1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.1:6 Er kwam een man, door God gezonden, en zijn naam was Johannes.1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.1:7 Deze kwam als getuige, om te getuigen van het Licht, opdat alle mensen door Hem zouden geloven.1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.1:8 Hij was niet dat Licht, maar werd gezonden om van dat Licht te getuigen
