The earth trembles under the boots of the fighters of the triangle of death. Toddlers languish at night between the legs of mothers in the middle of the woods. The traditional chiefs flee the villages. All that remains of the signs of the state are schools and health centers emptied of their officials. The stranglehold is tightening on the few survivors who have been bruised by the fighting and the exactions of the lords of death. They are familiar with the faces of the jihadists, the GANE, the bandits and the FDS. Some loot them and others kill them. The FDS give them hope of a distant peace. They are blinded by power, which the nameless war serves. To clear the villages of their populations, to push them as far away as possible and reoccupy the space for future strategic uses.
