Grace loves big questions-especially the biggest one of all: How did life begin? When she’s unexpectedly teamed with her rival Cheli for the regional science fair, the two explore how tiny molecules might have come together to form the first sparks of life on Earth. But working with Cheli forces Grace to face more than a scientific mystery. She must confront her mistrust of her partner, her fear of being misunderstood, and the familiar feeling of standing on the outside looking in. To finish their project, Grace will have to find the courage to share what matters most to her-that humans are deeply connected to the Earth and to one another. With courage, curiosity, and the support of those who believe in her, Grace discovers that not fitting in can be a strength. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is ask the questions no one else will. The Elements of Grace is a hopeful story about curiosity, resilience, and finding your voice. 6
