1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.1:1 La început, Dumnezeu a făcut cerul și pământul.1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.1:2 Și pământul era fără formă și gol; iar întunericul era pe faţa adâncului. Și Duhul lui Dumnezeu s-a mișcat pe fața apelor.1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.1:3 Și Dumnezeu a zis: „Să fie lumină!' și a fost lumină.1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.1:4 Și Dumnezeu a văzut că lumina era bună; și Dumnezeu a despărțit lumina de întuneric.1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.1:5 Dumnezeu a numit lumina zi, iar întunericul a numit noapte. Și seara și dimineața au fost ziua întâi.
