La necesidad de publicar esta investigación radica en la importancia de su hipótesis: que la experiencia cumbre de todas las religiones y búsquedas espirituales, la vivencia mística (la unidad de la conciencia con lo absoluto, lo sagrado o el ser en general), consiste en una desarticulación de la conciencia temporal, por lo que la comprensión de la propia existencia y del ser se alteran radicalmente respecto de la experiencia cotidiana. Esto implica que la comprensión de uno mismo y de la naturaleza que nos trasciende se modifica de una manera tan fundamental que el sentido de lo que denominamos coloquialmente “realidad”, “mundo” o “existencia”, se sacraliza, generando paradigmas en forma de estructuras simbólicas que han compartido las diferentes comunidades humanas a lo largo de la historia, tradicionalmente denominados “hechos religiosos”.La temporalidad humana, desde la lectura de los textos de Eckhart, se presenta como la llave que permite exponer y explicar este hecho religioso fundamental. Esto, sumado al análisis del tiempo que hace el autor alemán Martin Heidegger, permite entender que la comprensión de la existencia, que el ser humano muchas veces se jacta de dominar, es una interpretación parcial y que el acercamiento a otros paradigmas respecto del sentido de la existencia y del ser en general aparecen como culturalmente valiosos, en tanto permiten ampliar la comprensión de lo que naturalmente se nos presenta como cotidiano. 10
