'You will be the gift to the community' was all the author could hear ringing in her ear as she pursued a successful teaching career in the Philippines and the USA for 33 years. Those words were from her dad who had chosen her teaching profession. Ms. Lawson had tried to persevere and take care of the very demanding task of teaching here and abroad, garnering accolades for her dedication to her profession and teaching expertise! She could have sought a more lucrative career, but her passion to give her children a very good start in their life through their love of education and learning was all she cared for. In her own words: 'I would attribute my success to hard work and being very passionate about helping children grow in their learning, and hoping to provide them with a bright future!'Her joyful and successful experiences she had with the children encouraged her to write all the rich ideas, knowledge, great pedagogical methods, and activities accumulated through her teaching years as her legacy to those who found the love of teaching like herself, especially to the new teachers and those coming from abroad to pursue their teaching here. Her advice to them: 'Listen to your children. Pay attention to them. They will teach you to be the best teacher you could ever be!'Though now enjoying her peaceful retirement, Ms. Lawson has not diminished her commitment to the education and learning of the children, for she has penned another children’s book, 'Reading Made Easy' to help children learn to read. She has learned that 'once you are a teacher, you are a teacher forever!'This is a very solid teaching book the author has written that professionals will rely on. Her foreign perspective on teaching is just as valuable and insightful as her experience in the states. Her recounts of all her teaching experiences are very profound and inspiring! It is something that will always stay with readers after they finish the book. 3
