Il presente studio si proponeva di sviluppare e validare un metodo spettroscopico UV con indicazione di stabilità per la quantificazione del misoprostolo in forma bulk, comunemente utilizzato per il trattamento delle ulcere correlate ai FANS. Lo studio ha utilizzato solo la forma sfusa di misoprostolo e ha scelto HCl 0,1N come solvente dopo aver condotto test di pre-solubilità. Il metodo è stato sviluppato e validato utilizzando lo spettrofotometro ELICO a doppio raggio SL-120/UV. Sulla base dei parametri fisici e della solubilità del misoprostolo, è stata preparata una soluzione madre standard del farmaco e sono stati determinati i massimi di assorbanza a 281 nm. La linearità è stata stabilita preparando soluzioni da 2-10 µg/ml e lo studio ha seguito le linee guida Q3D delineate dall’ICH. Il metodo spettroscopico UV sviluppato per la quantificazione del misoprostolo in forma bulk si è rivelato rapido, semplice, economico e adatto alla sua determinazione specifica. Il metodo ha aderito alle linee guida stabilite e ha mostrato una buona linearità, con LOD, LOQ, accuratezza e precisione soddisfacenti.
