STARGAZERS

What starts as a night of backyard stargazing turns into an adventure full of questions, discoveries and fun.Siblings Adam and Nova explore the night sky with their loyal dog, Astro, and a few special friends: Ursa Minor, Nova’s beloved teddy bear; Hopper, a curious frog; and Ingenuity, a dragonfly named after NASA’s Mars helicopter. With a telescope, some help from their family and plenty of questions, Adam and Nova find the Little Dipper, learn about Polaris, the North Star, and see how people have used the stars to find their way for generations.Along the way there are surprises and laughs, and their backyard starts to feel like the doorway to space. The story was inspired by an original sculpture by Navy veteran and artist Dale Edward Holbrook. It pairs colorful pictures with easy-to-follow astronomy and the fun of learning together as a family. It’s a book for children and families to read together, ask questions and find out how much is possible when they look up.Look Up. Be Curious. See What’s Possible.
