SPORTS TRAINING THEORIES AND METHODOLOGY

The purpose of the training and the development of the athlete for sport performance at the right time hence the importance of planning according to the competition schedule, the athlete’s level, the objectives of the sport and respect for the principles of training.This book is built around this paradigm. Far from recipes, we want to offer the coach a certain amount of knowledge and tools that allow him to justify his choices. We present a general model that can be applied to all sports disciplines, and then we discuss a number of concepts to adapt this model to the constraints imposed by the environment. In particular, we develop the effects of training, workouts, recovery, but also the planning and control of the training load.Designed as a guide, this book is aimed more specifically at students in science and technology of physical and sports activities and/or who are preparing a Master’s degree in sports training. It is also dedicated to coaches who want to have a different look at their practice.
