Fulfilling and soul-stirring, this book brings to Christian spirituality a literary perspective cultivated through thirty years of teaching on the part of the author. He is neither a theologian nor an exegete but he brings to life the results of many years of reading and research into the life of the gospels through the concept of simplicity, an idea much respected by Christ the Teacher. Simplicity becomes a foil to the entanglements of those who wish to obstruct or deny the 'good news.' The theme of simplicity strikes at the very core of the gospels and resonates well with the entire message that Christ wishes to convey, belief in him as the Son of God and trust in the love he models. The good news of Jesus Christ is for all ages and for all peoples whose trust in God is couched in simplicity.NORMAN BEAUPRÉ was born in Maine and educated at St. Francis College, a Franciscan institution in southern Maine. He then received his Ph.D. in French literature from Brown University. He taught for thirty years at the University of New England in Maine. His first novel in English was published in 2004. Since then, he has published 24 books in English and in French. He has traveled extensively. He spent two sabbaticals in Paris studying French Impressionism as well as Gothic architecture. He was decorated by the French government in 2008 and made Officier dans l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres for his outstanding contribution to French culture. 3
