Every person has thoughts about his/her existence; what he/she was purposed to do in life and how God fits into this equation of destiny. Such pondering on this existence quandary could cause one to reach the point of utter mental exhaustion, or to begin a path that leads one further away from God. What benefits these important matters of the heart most is consulting the Bible and learning what God believes a person should follow of guidance and spiritual wisdom. In the new book Simple Truths, author Shaun Peavy chooses several topics to discuss that are noted areas of concern and uncertainty among people. He begins his book with a heartfelt dialogue about free will, explaining that free will is a gift from God that people have somehow re-directed to mean they can do whatever they want without consequences. Shaun reminds readers though that the only way to redeem one’s choices, and use free will as God intended, is through accepting Jesus into one’s heart. Other discussion topics in the book include disguised demons in life, the sins of busyness, and the dangers that come from hate and anger. Shaun expounds on each chapter point with scriptural truths, as well as personal experience, to relate the guidance God wants believers to follow to break out of the darkness. Simple Truths seeks to provide an open forum to readers to compare their beliefs of life’s situations with that of the author’s presentation of God’s truths; with the hope that those reading will adopt the beliefs and change their lives in the process. It is not easy to question certain matters of life when you aren’t sure how the questions will be received, or how you will be treated for asking.
