Der erste Teil dieser Studie über den Skorpion Urodacus elongatus (Scorpionidae) aus den Flinders Ranges befasste sich mit der Anzahl der Larvenstadien, dem Geschlechtsdimorphismus sowie geschlechtsspezifischen Bewegungen und Überlebensraten. Für beide Geschlechter wurden sechs Larvenstadien bestimmt, wobei die Individuen anhand morphometrischer Merkmale zugeordnet wurden. Anhaltende geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede ermöglichten eine Unterscheidung zwischen dem zweiten und sechsten Larvenstadium. Der Geschlechtsdimorphismus entwickelte sich langsam in den unreifen Stadien und war im sechsten Stadium vollständig ausgeprägt. Der Dimorphismus der Metasomalsegmente unterstützte die sexuelle Selektion für dieses Merkmal. Intersexuelle Unterschiede in der Häufigkeit und Aktivität im sechsten Stadium deuteten darauf hin, dass Männchen durch natürliche Selektionsprozesse einem höheren Sterberisiko ausgesetzt waren. Der zweite Teil dieser Studie befasste sich mit den Lebensraumansprüchen des Skorpions aus den Flinders Ranges in Naturschutzgebieten in Südaustralien.
