this is every voice that has searched the sky for the words and the guidanceto their travelsof sexof loveof existentialism.Through these pageswe find we are home.In the arms of our beloved:Our own.-dr catThere is no subject out there which captivates our population more than the all-encompassing subject of relationships. As social creatures, we thrive on our interdependence upon one another. Yet, due to familial, cultural, and experiential conditioning (starting from our early formative years up to present day), we most often operate from strategies that no longer serve us. The internal narrative of how we see ourselves, others, and the world as it relates to romantic love unconsciously influences our behaviors in a way that intends to protect us from threat, but simultaneously impacts our ability to give and receive love. SexLoveYoga takes the reader on a journey to clarify the patterns, thoughts, fears and excitements that rule our decision-making process, around the human intimate experience.SexLoveYoga is divided into three chapters: Sex, Love, and a medium through which both can grow--Yoga. These primary sections are a collection of psychologically themed poems. Each thought piece is written to evoke emotional self-recognition and invite readers to self-inquire. At the conclusion of each primary section, there is an analytical composition expanding upon the psychological concepts presented in the poetry. This aids in grounding the emotional experiences of the poetry into comprehension of the theories presented.

Originally written by hand, the author has traversed a fine line betw...

  • Polishing the Silver
    Jennifer Chrystie
‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

  • One Kiss
    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
