Niniejsza książka analizuje tempo wzrostu krzywej pandemii SARS-COV-2 w krajach Ameryki Południowej, porównując ten wzrost z krajami innych regionów. Celem jest określenie wpływu czynników związanych z dochodem, informacją oraz cechami społeczno-kulturowymi związanymi z mobilnością i dystansem społecznym, jako determinantów tempa wzrostu krzywej. W celu rozwinięcia badań zaproponowano model regresji metodą najmniejszych kwadratów, w którym jako zmienną zależną przyjęto współczynnik wzrostu krzywej pandemii dla każdego kraju i powiązano go ze zmiennymi niezależnymi, które odpowiadają wyżej wymienionym czynnikom. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań uzyskano pozytywną i istotną zależność pomiędzy zmienną dochód a manekinem służącym do modelowania aspektów społeczno-kulturowych niewyjaśnionych przez pozostałe zmienne. Z badania wynika, że kraje Ameryki Południowej mają szybszy czynnik wzrostu zarażenia niż inne kraje, niezależnie od ich poziomu dochodów czy dostępu do informacji.
