It is also a foreshadow of the modern-day Christian who, on their way to glory, gets mixed up with a seducing spirit, like Delilah, whose only goal is to discover his source of strength and how it can be defeated. The author uses the Sampson story to reveal the carnality of many modern-day Christians who started out with the 'zeal of God only to end up as a 'Has Been,' lost in the uncertainty of life, caught up in regrets, full of sorrow and despair and ever wondering where things went wrong.
