Bouabid Maadani
The present work focuses on Saint-John Perse’s collection of poems Exil. Designated as part of the 'American cycle', the poet celebrates the movement of the mind towards a confrontation of the arcana of poetry with those of the passion of displacement, the presence of the sea and the anguish of solitude. Three 'poles' that form a whole bundle of complex images and intertwined themes, amplified from one text to the next, forming a unity, coherence and singular poetics. In movement, the poet seeks answers to questions about the meaning of life and things.
