El presente trabajo ha sido escogido en razón de que la zona de estudio es representativa para Cotopaxi, en su ecología, forma de organización y niveles de conflictividad del agua, en tal sentido es importante ya que en la medida en que podamos explicar la forma de resolución de conflictos en esta zona, se puede ir generando iniciativas para una solución de la problemática provincial menos traumática y más duradera. Los beneficiarios directos de este trabajo serán dos organizaciones fundamentales al interior de esta micro cuenca, como son la Unión de Organizaciones Indígenas y Campesinas del Norte de Cotopaxi 'UNOCANC' y los socios del Canal Central Toacaso, pero al ser estas organizaciones parte fundamental de organizaciones Provinciales como el MICC y la FEDURIC, de alta trascendencia en el manejo de los Recursos hídricos y de los ecosistemas, entendemos permitirá facilitar los procesos de negociación.
