In the present study was to investigat the reproductive periodicity and spawning potential of the fresh water fish H.bimaclatus on the basis of morphometry histo anatomical method. Hemichromis bimaculatus is a biannual monsoon breeder. It has a major spawning season during October-November rnorth -east monsoon and the peak spawning in mid-November and a minor spawning season synchronizing and responding to the south-west monsoon in April-June. The females are significantly bigger than males at all seasons of the year, and there is a preponderance of females only in a few months, otherwise both the sexes are found in almost equal numbers.
