Projekt ten bada doświadczenia nauczycieli przedszkolnych z uczeniem się, nauczaniem i charakterem matematyki podczas kursu matematyki elementarnej. Skupiam się na interpretowaniu ewoluujących obrazów matematyki/nauczania przez uczniów, aby nadać sens moim własnym ewoluującym obrazom matematyki/nauczania. Zapytanie to opiera się na zasadach złożoności, które stanowią postpozytywistyczne i holistyczne ramy dla interpretacji zjawisk społecznych. Metodologia ta jest zorientowana na narracyjne dociekania, które są środkiem do zauważania i interpretowania współkonstruowanych, opowiedzianych doświadczeń innych i siebie. W wyniku procesów analizy danych studenta wyłoniła się soczewka interpretacyjna służąca zrozumieniu ewoluujących obrazów matematyki/nauczania studenta w zakresie współnegocjowania napięć, dysonansów i sprzeczności pomiędzy dostępnymi narracjami w ramach pozornych doświadczeń uczestnika. Moje interpretacje historii studenta są sposobem na zrozumienie własnej historii jako negocjacji konkurencyjnych narracji. Procesy i produkty tego badania mogą dać wgląd w złożoną kwestię zmiany i zmiany nauczycieli.
