Kiedy uczymy się języka, nie możemy ograniczać się tylko do zrozumienia i używania reguł gramatycznych języka, ale także kultury i społeczeństwa tych społeczności. Uczymy się komunikować, rozpoznawać sytuacje z życia codziennego i sposoby radzenia sobie z nimi przez różne formacje społeczno-kulturowe. Jednym z aspektów suprasegmentalnych, który odgrywa jedną z najważniejszych ról w komunikacji jest 'Prozodia'; rozumienie użycia różnych tonacji w zależności od tego, co chcemy wyrazić jako mówcy, a co odbiorcy. Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu służyć jako przewodnik dla rozwoju narzędzi do obiektywnego pomiaru prozodii u osób posługujących się językiem angielskim jako językiem obcym. W tym celu wykorzystaliśmy różne kategorie pytań językowych i to, co domyślnie ma być wyrażone przez ich domyślne tonacje. Zastosowanie instrumentu ewaluacyjnego opartego na tym podejściu pomogłoby wykryć braki w intencji komunikacyjnej osób posługujących się językiem angielskim jako językiem obcym i wdrożyć środki mające na celu wzmocnienie aspektów komunikacji dla przyszłych nauczycieli lub jako ulepszenie w planie nauczania.
