Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, observacional, transversal e retrospetivo realizado no Laboratório de Infecções Transfusionais Transmissíveis (ITT) da Unidade de Hemoterapia e Imunohematologia do Hospital Geral de Doenças Agudas Juan. A. Fernández pertencente ao GCABA.O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar a prevalência média das doenças de rastreio obrigatório nos dadores de sangue e de plaquetas, de acordo com os requisitos da Lei Nacional do Sangue e da sua regulamentação.Este estudo, realizado em 44244 dádivas de primeira vez efectuadas no período 2006-2017, permite-nos caraterizar esta população segundo as variáveis sexo, idade, local de residência e origem segundo o nascimento dos Dadores.Isto fornece novos conhecimentos de saúde para a prevenção e deteção de casos de ITT, levando a intervenções preventivas para novos casos e acesso a tratamento e acompanhamento específicos para os afectados. É também útil para planear os recursos necessários para este tipo de intervenção.
